About
The problem it solves The rise of deepfake technology has made it increasingly difficult to distinguish authentic content from manipulated media. Misinformation and media manipulation are rampant across digital platforms, making it difficult to trust online content. While multiple parties can claim ownership of media, the goal is to provide a system where only the original creator can verify and authenticate their content. User Interaction and Data Flow Imagine a public figure, such as Donald Trump, recording a video for an important announcement. Before posting it on social media, they upload the video to our platform for authentication. The platform generates a cryptographic watermark and registers the content on the blockchain. When the video is shared, it carries proof of authenticity, ensuring that the original creator verifies the content. ## 1. Video Upload & Watermarking - The user uploads a video file. - The platform applies an invisible cryptographic watermark to the video. - Metadata (creator's ID, timestamp, hash of the original video) is generated. ## 2. Blockchain Registration - The platform hashes the video and its metadata. - The hash is stored on the Story Protocol blockchain as proof of authenticity. - A unique NFT or tokenized record is minted, representing the verified media. ## 3. Download Verified Video - The user downloads the watermarked version of the video. - The video contains an embedded signature that can be checked against the blockchain for validation. ## 4. Posting on Social Media - The user posts the verified video on platforms like X. - The platform can provide a verification badge (e.g., "Blockchain Verified") to embed in posts. ## 5. Public Verification - Anyone can upload the video to the platform to check if it matches the blockchain record. - If verified, it confirms the content's authenticity and creator. The project architecture and development process - A web-based platform where users can upload and authenticate media. - Uses Story Protocol, a Layer 1 blockchain, to tokenize intellectual property and provide immutable verification. - Generates a cryptographic watermark or signature for authenticated content. - Allows users to download the verified content for sharing on social media. Product Integrations We used Story Protocol to create IP assets from the NFTs. Key differentiators and uniqueness of the project Story Protocol allows users to generate NFT and register it as IP Asset. However, the process is cumbersome as the users must install the Story SDK in order to implement this. We streamline the process by developing a user friendly UI/UX where users can upload contents and watermark it in one step. Trade-offs and shortcuts while building We made a UI for wallet options but we only implement the metamask for the sake of efficiency, Additional Features N/A
