    Bridget: Cross Chain Lending Protocol

Cross chain lending. Borrow no matter where you deposit!

    About

The problem it solves Bridget represents a pivotal innovation in the DeFi landscape by addressing one of its most significant challenges: fragmented liquidity. Our protocol is not just a solution; it's a transformative approach to DeFi's structure. At its core, Bridget's cross-chain lending pools are engineered to amplify capital efficiency. By facilitating the pooling of collateral from different networks, we empower users to access and leverage liquidity across diverse blockchain ecosystems seamlessly. Our MVP showcases the potential of this system with a focus on simplicity: starting with USDC and two chains, Linea and Base. It allows users to borrow against their aggregated assets from these chains, up to a 50% loan-to-value (LTV) ratio. This ensures responsible borrowing while maintaining flexibility.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into Some challenges we ran into were how do we integrate a cross chain protocol such as CCIP into our project. Our original idea was to transfer the token form the source chain to the destination chain and then lend on the destination chain based on the assets transferred, however this seemed no different from just bridging and sending the asset. We then pivoted to keeping the asset on the same chain and locking them up when receiving a message from the destination chain that the user is borrowing against their asset from another chain. But we’re still not sure if this is a valid use for CCIP and if there are simpler ways to accomplish this. Additionally integrated scaffold eth was quite difficult as it was our first time using this framework and understanding how the hooks worked. UI/UX- Our journey to crafting an intuitive yet sophisticated DApp involved a blend of targeted research, strategic ideation, and iterative prototyping. We focused on distilling complex functionalities into an accessible user experience, employing rigorous ideation frameworks and design flows. This process led us to develop an MVP that seamlessly combines powerful DeFi features with simplicity and usability.
