Powering Open Source OnChain - No Bias, Just Brilliance

    About

The problem it solves 1. **Transparency Issues** : Traditional open-source programs (e.g., Outreachy, GSoC) often lack transparency, leading to biases and unfair rewards. 2. **Subjective Reward Systems** : Rewards are not always tied to measurable contributions, causing dissatisfaction among developers. 3. **Limited Community Engagement** : Broader developer communities are often excluded, reducing diversity and innovation. 4. **Inefficient Milestone Tracking** : Poor tracking systems delay payments and reduce accountability. 5. **Black-Box Decision-Making** : Opaque processes erode trust in open-source funding systems. CodeDAO's Solution: CodeDAO leverages AI, DAOs, and GitHub bots to objectively track milestones, release funds transparently, and reward contributions based on merged pull requests. This fosters trust, inclusivity, and accountability, creating a thriving on-chain developer ecosystem.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into **Okto SDK Integration:** The SDK provider faced issues in accessing the React context with the latest version, causing delays in seamless integration. **Smart Contract Design:** Managing the end-to-end flow of voting rights and ensuring uniformity across the platform proved complex and required significant iterations to achieve robustness. **AI Agent Performance:** Scoring proposals, evaluating innovation in existing open-source alternatives, and ensuring meaningful assessments were difficult due to limitations in AI context size and processing capabilities. **Milestone-Based Payments:** Defining accurate milestones was challenging, as AI-driven suggestions often suffered from hallucinations, complicating the process and requiring manual interventions for correction.
