About
The problem it solves Everyone builds a legacy. The [Chomp](https://ChompCoin.xyz) community is building this. Part staking, part minting, **Chomp Legacy is an NFT minting platform** to transform CHOMP tokens into forever memories. Chomp Legacy is a limited edition NFT series that highlights the artistic themes of Chomp. While we feel the art is top-tier, it's the minting mechanism that is especially unique here. **Obtaining Chomp Legacy NFTs happens in 3 steps:** - Stake CHOMP tokens 🐹 - Gather DOTS (internal system points) 🟠 - Mint Legacy NFTs 🌱 The DOTS accure in proportion to the number of CHOMP tokens staked, and the time they are staked. Hence, to gather enough DOTS to mint a Legacy NFT, one must either stake a high number of tokens, or wait a longer period of time. While collectibles will be released in series of 3, with three tiers of scarcity and value, **the first art piece is a free mint, requiring just 1 single DOT--making it accessible to anyone with a modest amount of CHOMP to stake.** **The more CHOMP you stake, the more DOTS you make.** DOTS gather over time, and once you have enough, you can mint Legacy! Legacy includes free mints for everyone with even a little CHOMP, as well as rare mints for those who gather many DOTS 🟠. In summary, the problem that Chomp Legacy solves is providing an NFT minting platform for the CHOMP community in a creative way, that encourages staking for the CHOMP token's longterm health. We're excited to release the Chomp Legacy series, with **each trilogy outlining core themes of Chomp's brand and ethos**. The first trilogy illustrates Chomp's love of Luxury Sports, with a fresh clean style. **Look forward to an Onchain Summer of Legacy NFT series!**
How it's made
Challenges we ran into Connecting Smart Wallet via OnchainKit was challenging. We always encountered errors with hooks when setting providers according to the documentation. So, we moved to the native Coinbase integration and connected Smart Wallet according to its documentation. However, we decided to use OnchainKit for Frames because it works great for that purpose. Another challenge was Paymaster. At first, we followed the approach mentioned in the documentation by using the Next.js API, but it didn't show the Coinbase wallet popup during the transaction. So, we used wagmi's useWriteContracts hook, which helped us a lot.
