A VR game-world on Base with Thirdweb SDK, all built for a compelling VR-Web3 experience. First, our digital world fell to the anomolies, now our homes are under attack! Dive in and protect our world

    About

The problem it solves The vision of Divers and the verse along with it is to bring about a new compelling age of web3 functionality in gaming. | No more cheap web game money grabbers. No more Brands/IP's "fulfilling" their lacking utility with silly temple-runner style games that are token gated. The vision for the metaverse that had everyone buzzing in 2021 still is out there... And that vision only will be realized when a compelling VR/AR world enables Web3 to scale to its full potential. Additionally, using a free-to-play model to onboard users, and continuing to allow them to experience the fullness of the world without forking over money upfront will incubate a thriving game-economy, allowing F2P users to earn and grow along with the game. The principles of the project are inspired by sentiments from Ready-Player-One, Sword Art Online, and Solo Leveling.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into Scope creep. Initially this started with the goal of implementing web3 functionality in VR, which I had no idea of how to do. This led me to first use Thirdweb's react SDK to build an NFT mint site and Gallery (both working, preparing logistics for launch). With some confidence building web3 apps via Thirdweb, I then moved over to getting a VR build environment working, which I've demonstrated in the video demo. The functionality in the VR world is very minimal so far, as there are a lot of work to do with creating assets, environments, backend infrastructure, as well as custom smart contracts. My goal in this hackathon was to bring Vr/Web3 technologies together, which is something I haven't seen anybody do yet outside of a dev at Thirdweb. Building an entire game-world ecosystem comes with a lot of planning and work, so I'm hoping to get funding to further invest on asset creation, backend services (Thirdweb Premium), custom smart contract audits, etc. tl;dr building VR apps with web3 functionality has been a dream of mine, and setting up the development environment with a simple working demo has been a small yet simultaneously monumental step in that :)
