    Based Run

A fake-game turned real on Base.

    Demo

    About

The problem it solves **Our purpose is simple: make being onchain fun.** When we first got into Web3, 4 years ago, everything was finance and transactions. Important, yes — but as students, it felt hard to really be onchain. We believe Base + Farcaster are the best platforms to flip that, and make onchain more fun than being online. **Based Run is our latest Trenchverse mini-app — a viral TikTok “fake game” turned real on FC:** 👉 Hand-written math logic in Unity 👉 Fully functional 3D player model 👉 Particle effects, shading, secondary effects 👉 Enemy AI inspired by CoC-style defenses 👉 A custom Unity level engine, built from scratch **We’re not porting Web2 games into Web3 — we’re building the games we always wished existed, and shipping them onchain.** 💜 Smart Contract Address(es) Our project does not deploy a new custom smart contract. Instead, we integrate directly with the official USDC contract on Base (0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913) to handle in-game payments. All other game logic (leaderboard, scoring, Farcaster integration) is currently managed off-chain in Unity and our React bridge. This design allows us to leverage a trusted stablecoin contract while keeping gameplay logic fast and lightweight. The Basescan link below (with filters applied) shows the transactions triggered when a player buys a $2 chance. Each player can only purchase once every 12 hours. How it's made

Challenges we ran into Since Based Run is a fake game turned real, there was no existing playbook. All the “similar” games online were just clickbait to push downloads, **so we had to build all the logics ourselves** — designing obstacles, hand-crafting mathematical gates, building in-game elements, and more. Because designing every level manually wasn’t scalable, **we built a custom Unity level engine** from scratch. And since there’s no native WebSocket between the Base onchain kit and Unity WebGL, **we also had to create a custom bridge** for data flow and payment integration.
