Why are you participating for Based SEA? We are committed to introducing the Southeast Asian community to blockchain through a fun, Python-based crypto game. By leveraging the Base blockchain, we aim to enhance blockchain accessibility and promote its adoption in the region, making complex technology approachable for users new to crypto. Additional Features During the Buildathon, we added a feature that allows players to create and trade unique in-game assets represented as NFTs, integrating them seamlessly with the Base marketplace, all through a Python interface.

What challenges are you focusing on? We're focusing on the challenge of making blockchain and cryptocurrency concepts more accessible to a broader audience in Southeast Asia. There is a significant gap in understanding blockchain’s potential, especially when it comes to decentralized gaming and finance, which we aim to bridge through interactive gameplay. How does your submission address this challenge? BaseCryptoQuest simplifies blockchain technology by integrating it into a Python-developed game where players can experience crypto transactions and NFTs first-hand. Through fun, strategic gameplay, users will engage with Base's decentralized infrastructure while learning about blockchain and cryptocurrency in a low-stakes environment. Our project is designed to foster education and adoption of blockchain technologies in a way that's engaging and relevant for new users in the region. Challenges we ran into One technical challenge was interfacing Python with Base’s smart contract functionality. We overcame this by utilizing Python libraries that communicate effectively with Base’s API, ensuring the smooth execution of blockchain transactions within the game. Additionally, keeping transaction costs low while ensuring game security was another hurdle that required optimization of Python code and smart contracts.
