About
The problem it solves OMG, the Barbieverse is here to solve all that icky liquidity fragmentation across lending markets by, like, bridging liquidity across superchains to totally optimize your yield! No matter where your liquidity is chilling, thanks to the fab Optimism superchains, you can deposit it on the chain and yield farm that gives you the best yield— all in, like, one super cute transaction! This means you don’t have to manually bridge your funds yourself (ew, so much work!), which cuts down on all that user frustration and keeps things extra safe by skipping sketchy third-party bridges and using Optimism’s native superchain bridge instead. This also means you get all those sexy chains like Base, unichain, and more! So easy, so secure, so Barbie! User Interaction and Data Flow Like, how does someone interact with my fab project? Okay, so entering the Barbieverse is, like, super easy and totally glam! First, you just connect your Metamask wallet—poof, you’re in! Then, you get to pick from a bunch of adorbs yield farms to deposit into, all gathered up from different chains on the OP stack. So fetch, right? After that, you just choose a yield farm, type in how much you wanna deposit, and hit “deposit”—or “withdraw” when you’re ready to take your goodies back. On the backend, the superchain relay does all the heavy lifting, moving your funds between chains like magic, so you can just sit back, sip your glittery lemonade, and enjoy the yield without worrying about all the techy stuff. The Barbie Money Maker totally abstracts it all away to keep things dreamy for you! The project architecture and development process So, to fix that whole icky cross-chain lending liquidity drama, we’re, like, using Optimism superchains to make it all sparkly smooth! We made it even easier by putting all the messaging relay magic right into the smart contracts themselves. Like, instead of doing a million steps to bridge funds and then deposit, we’ve got this one super cute function that takes your funds and does all the hard work to get them to the perfect yield farm. Easy-peasy, right? On the front end, we whipped up this adorbs Vite + React site that’s, like, so simple to use, and it’s powered by wagmi for all the blockchain vibes. To get this party started, we kicked things off with OP’s tic-tac-toe example to figure out the bridging logic (so nerdy, but so helpful!). Then we tweaked it to let funds go back and forth between chains—like withdrawing when you’re chilling at point A. After we nailed that, we updated the webhooks in our Vite template to call these smart contract methods. Finally, we used Remix to deploy our smart contracts to OP Devnet 1, and then pointed our front end to those shiny new deployed contracts. Voila, the Barbieverse is ready to slay! Product Integrations Wagmi (used for wallet and smart contract functionality), OP Interop (used to bridge funds) Key differentiators and uniqueness of the project My project’s all about cross-chain lending with a totally chain-agnostic vibe, and you can do it all in just one transaction thanks to OP Interop—how fetch is that?! You don’t even need to connect to a bunch of chains or manually bridge your liquidity, which is, like, so much work. Pretty much every other lending marketplace makes you jump through all those hoops, but not the Barbieverse—we keep it simple, sparkly, and super user-friendly! Trade-offs and shortcuts while building Okay, so to keep things super simple and totally manageable for the hackathon, we decided to assume that users will always pop in and out from the same chain, no matter where the actual liquidity pool is chilling. With more time, we’d, like, totally make it all chain-agnostic so you could enter from anywhere, but we had to keep it cute and quick ‘cause of the time crunch! Also, speaking of time, we couldn’t integrate wagmi to read the smart contract’s balance (ugh, so annoying!), so our front end just optimistically updates the balance for now. But don’t worry, our video totally proves the on-chain values really do update! Oh, and if we had more time, we’d add a borrow feature to the yield farm—right now it’s just lending, ‘kay? For the future, we’re dreaming of making it all even more sparkly by fixing these bits and adding tons of fab optimizations so the Barbieverse can be the ultimate lending hotspot!
