Atleta.tech
Zora for athletes
About
Why are you participating for Based LatAm? When I saw the prompt and it's positivity I really wanted to build something. I did a quick research on my community, got a team and built what we are proposing. Hopefully we get funds to go for the first milestone and launch. Additional Features We started this completely for the hackathon.
How it's made
What challenges are you focusing on? Latam athletes athletes really struggle to monetize their carrers: They have limited access to traditional sponsorships and merchandise sales: they don’t meet the follower count or target demographic brands seek, some sports restrict athletes from wearing sponsors’ logos. Lack of direct monetization tools despite having passionate, albeit small, fan bases: they dont meet monetization requirements for social media, gofundme is too charity, OnlyFans can affect their reputation, merch has low ROI and high effort. How does your submission address this challenge? We want to educate and provide athletes with the tools to launch their own collectibles. As a first experiment we built an aggregator, so that athletes can deploy their NFT collections anywhere (Opensea, Thirdweb, Crossmint, etc) and Atleta.tech is basically an aggregator to fans to discover and but their favorite athletes collectibles. The vision is to become a Zora for athletes. Where you can explore by sport, country, etc and discover athletes, know their stories, buy their collectibles and become a true supporter. Athletes have their own pictures, videos, media and stories to tell that are amazing and incredibly inspiring. We want to provide them a way to share and monetize on them. Challenges we ran into On user research we identified that athletes have 0 knowledge on web3 (and computers in general). But by using collectibles as a terminology they were very interested. The main technical challenge was finding ways to query NFT data without providing a too technical experience to the user. (in the athlete form, right now we ask for rarible collection url.) because collection address might be too hard. We found APIs that can help for that un future iterations.
