Arisan Arisan Joss
About
The problem it solves Arischain solves the long standing problems of transparency, security, and trust in traditional arisan (rotating savings groups). Conventional arisan often faces issues such as fund mismanagement, manipulation, or delayed payouts due to the lack of decentralized oversight. By leveraging blockchain technology and smart contracts, Arischain ensures full transparency for every transaction, guaranteed fund security, and automated draw scheduling without third-party intervention. This solution empowers Indonesian communities to join digital arisan in a safer, more reliable, and efficient way.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into Challenges I Ran Into While building Arischain, several technical and conceptual challenges arose: 1. Smart Contract Deployment Issues: During testing, deploying the contract to the Sepolia testnet failed due to insufficient test ETH and misconfigured environment variables. This was resolved by setting up a local Hardhat blockchain environment for development and adding a proper .env configuration for testnets. 2. Front-End and Blockchain Integration: Connecting the React frontend with the deployed smart contract required troubleshooting ABI compatibility and contract addresses. We solved this by restructuring the frontend to dynamically load the ABI and contract address from the build artifacts after each deployment. 3. Wallet Connection Handling: Ensuring a seamless connection to MetaMask was initially inconsistent, especially when switching accounts. The issue was solved by implementing event listeners in the frontend to detect account changes and auto-update the session state. 4. Data Mocking for Testing: Since live blockchain interactions were limited without sufficient test ETH, dummy data and mock services were introduced. This allowed frontend features such as group creation, joining, and dashboard display to be tested without relying on live transactions. Through these challenges, we improved the overall architecture of Arischain, making it more reliable and scalable for future development and deployment on real testnets.
