Full-stack app that receives user input, uses stable diffusion to create art, and then freely distributes that generated art on the blockchain.
About
The problem it solves The user can enter any text-based input into this project, and the stable diffusion AI will generate an image based on the text. The user can then give it a name, a description, and the wallet address to which it should be sent in order to mint the NFT. Hugging face is used to generate art using the stable diffusion model, and this generated art is then minted on the blockchain using the NFTport api to mint the NFT gasless, i.e. for free.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into I had trouble uploading the AI-generated image to IPFS. Before we mint our AI-generated art as NFTs, we'll need to upload it somewhere so that our NFT's metadata can point to it. We'll be storing our AI-generated image on IPFS, which is an interplanetary file storage system that is actually a peer-to-peer protocol used for data saving. To address this, I used NFT.storage to store our files on IPFS. We created a function that uploads the file to IPFS, we convert our image to a blob url in order to display it in the UI, and we convert that blob to a file type before converting it to a blob url and store it in a state so that we can access it later.
