About
TearRubr is a product authentication platform that gives physical products a verifiable digital identity. Manufacturers register products with TearRubr and associate each product with a unique identifier. When a customer purchases an item, they can scan its TearRubr code and verify whether the product corresponds to a legitimate record. The goal is simple: Make it possible to verify a physical product without having to trust the seller. TearRubr uses blockchain as a public, tamper-resistant verification layer while keeping application data and user-facing functionality in conventional infrastructure.
How it's made
TearRubr is built as an end-to-end physical product authentication platform that bridges industrial manufacturing lines with the Ethereum blockchain. Architecture & Tech Stack: Smart Contracts & Blockchain: We authored and compiled the TearRubr.sol registry contract in Solidity using Hardhat and deployed it live to the Ethereum Sepolia testnet (0xa34C7D37BB2bf41f73e562075878E86eFc7Ed05B). Transactions are signed and broadcast server-side using Ethers.js v6 connected via Alchemy's Sepolia RPC API. Frontend & UX: Built with SvelteKit (leveraging Svelte 5 runes for reactive state) and custom Tailwind CSS. Backend & Storage: SvelteKit server endpoints handle on-chain transactions, supply-chain verification APIs, and persist local metadata with Drizzle ORM and SQLite (better-sqlite3). Notable Technical Solution (The Scalability Problem): High-volume FMCG goods (like Coca-Cola bottles) cannot afford an individual on-chain transaction for millions of units. To solve this, we engineered an industrial Batch Merkle Rollup engine: The factory inputs batch parameters, and the system generates thousands of unique serialized product twins ([PREFIX]-[BATCH]-[INDEX]). We compute a deterministic Merkle Tree Root across all serial hashes. Only the single 32-byte Merkle root is committed on-chain in one transaction, making high-throughput production cost-effective. The platform exports a factory-ready CSV print manifest directly compatible with industrial packaging laser coders (Videojet/Domino).
