About
Maneki (maneki.work) is a live Web3 job board — thousands of active roles scraped nightly from 60+ sources, browsed daily by human candidates. Job-hunting AI agents are coming, and recruiting spam from unverified automation is already here. This project gives agents a first-class way in, with World ID deciding who gets it for free. The Maneki Agent Gateway exposes two surfaces. Discovery is open, like the web: an MCP server (search_jobs, get_job, list_hiring_companies) that any AI assistant can use with no signup and no API key — just per-IP rate limits. Actions are human-verified: full search results with salary data and AI matching against a real CV sit behind x402. An agent registered on AgentBook — meaning a real, unique, Orb-verified human stands behind its wallet — gets a free quota tied to the anonymous human id, not the wallet address. Spinning up fresh wallets doesn't reset it: Sybil-resistant rate limiting with no accounts, no cookies, no API keys. Everyone else pays $0.01 USDC per request on World Chain or Base. The payoff: on the website, AI matching requires an email signup gate. For agents, proof of personhood replaces the account entirely. A verified agent posts a CV and gets back scored, ranked matches (23 matches judged from 1,940 candidates in our live demo) — and every application will carry proof that one real human is behind it. That's the spam filter recruiters actually need, and the foundation for continuity: a quota, a match history and a reputation that follow the human across wallets, agents and services. How it's made
The gateway is genuinely registered — agentkit-cli + World App, transaction on World Chain — and the E2E demo runs a real PDF CV (pdf-parse) through agentkit.fetch. The job data never leaves as a dataset: the gateway queries a private, key-authenticated API on the Maneki Next.js app query-by-query (no bulk export, capped results, links point to Maneki job pages only — anti zero-click by design). The matching endpoint reuses Maneki's production pipeline: deterministic gates first, then LLM judging of shortlisted candidates against the CV. The hacky bit worth mentioning: @worldcoin/agentkit 0.2.1's client parses the 402 payment-required payload from the response body, but x402 2.25 servers emit it as a base64 response header with an empty body — the reference stack can't complete its own handshake. We ship a response middleware that mirrors the header payload back into the body so both client generations work, and documented it (plus Developer Portal and Sandbox access friction, and a facilitator cold-start timeout we hit in production) in FEEDBACK.md in the repo. Deployed on Vercel via the Hono framework preset after discovering the Node adapter buffers responses and kills MCP streaming — that migration story is in the commit history.
