    Freestocks

The easiest way to earn stocks, just by playing games and answering surveys on Base.

    About

Freestocks is the easiest way to earn stocks. Users play mobile games and answer surveys, just like on reward apps such as FreeCash, but instead of cashing out to gift cards, they cash out into Coinbase Tokenized Stocks on Base, tokens backed 1:1 by real US shares held in regulated custody. Only about 3% of the world owns US stocks. Meanwhile, millions of people already spend time on offerwalls every day and get paid in static gift cards. Freestocks keeps the same grind and changes the payout, so users own the upside instead. Here is the user flow. A user signs up with email or a social account, and a wallet is created for them automatically, so they never need to install anything or handle a seed phrase. They verify they are a unique human with World ID. On the Earn screen, they complete games and surveys, and each completed offer adds dollars to their balance. Once the balance reaches five dollars, they pick a stock, such as Apple, Tesla, or NVIDIA, and cash out. The stock is sent to their wallet on Base. From there, they can buy more with a card through MoonPay, or swap USDC for tokenized stocks on Uniswap in one screen. The business model is simple. Game and survey partners pay us per completed offer. We give 50 to 70 percent to the user and keep 30 to 50 percent, plus a 0.5% fee on each trade. There is no token and no emissions, because this is not GameFi.

    How it's made

Freestocks is a Next.js App Router web app deployed on Vercel, with a Neon Postgres database that holds every user's dollar balance and cashout requests. Earning works through an offerwall. When a user finishes a game or survey, our offerwall partner, Ayet, sends a postback to our Next.js API. The API checks the request and records the reward in the Neon ledger. When the balance reaches five dollars, the user can request a cashout, and our treasury wallet sends the chosen Coinbase Tokenized Stock to the user's wallet on Base. Wallets are created by Privy. Each user gets an embedded wallet when they sign up with email or a social account, so the onboarding feels like a normal app. World ID is how we stop fraud. Offerwalls attract people who create many accounts to farm rewards. Before a user can cash out, they verify with World ID, which proves they are a unique human without revealing who they are. One person can only have one account that cashes out, which protects both our margin and our offerwall partners. We chose Base because Coinbase issues tokenized US stocks there, each backed 1:1 by a real share in regulated custody, so what users earn is a real stock and not a synthetic copy. Fees on Base are low enough that a five-dollar stock is not eaten by the cost of sending it, and the stocks sit in a wallet the user can see and control. Coinbase Tokenized Stocks are available to eligible users outside the US, which matches our audience: most of the people who have never owned a US stock live outside the US. Trading runs on Uniswap. Users swap USDC for tokenized stocks on Base on one screen, and we add a 0.5% fee on each swap. We did not build our own exchange. Users can top up USDC with a card through MoonPay. Live stock prices come from Pyth and appear on the landing page and the cashout screen. One hacky detail: the offerwall pays us in dollars off-chain, but the user receives an on-chain stock. We bridge the two with a simple internal ledger that reserves the user's balance when they request a cashout, then releases it once the treasury transfer settles, so a user can never cash out the same five dollars twice.
