About
Aevum Protocol's Verifiable Backtest Oracle (VBO) solves the credibility problem in algorithmic trading. Anyone can show a great backtest there's no way to know if it was cherry-picked after the fact. VBO makes that impossible. Traders commit a cryptographic hash of their strategy on-chain before the forward test window opens. Atlas Oracle cryptographically signs the BTC/USD price at both commit and attestation time using data from 905+ exchange sources. When the window closes, traders submit their logs and Aevum attests the results on-chain. The result is a permanent certificate proving the strategy ran honestly with zero look-ahead bias, independently verified benchmark prices, and no way to fake the timing. Live on Ethereum Mainnet since September 3, 2026. First mainnet commitment active. 4 contracts deployed and verified on Etherscan.
How it's made
VBO v2 inherits Atlas Oracle's PullOracleConsumerStandard, making it the first trading strategy certification system with cryptographically signed benchmark prices. The architecture has 4 layers: Smart contracts AgentIdentity, ReputationOracle v2, ReputationController v2, and VBO v2 deployed on Ethereum Mainnet. VBO v2 uses Atlas Oracle pull-mode price feeds (BTC/USD feed #626, 905+ exchange sources, ConsensusScore verified). Serverless Atlas integration a Vercel serverless function fetches the Atlas signed price payload server-side and builds the VBO calldata before sending to MetaMask. This solves the Atlas payload requirement without exposing API keys in the browser. Frontend React/Vite on Vercel with WalletConnect via Reown AppKit. Agent registration gate checks on-chain identity before allowing strategy commits. Certificate page displays Atlas-verified BTC/USD prices with ATLAS VERIFIED badge. Infrastructure Supabase for commitment tracking, Resend for transactional emails, Stripe for payment processing, ImprovMX for email routing. Two audits completed by Claude Opus 5 — 4 Critical, 6 High, 10 Medium, 8 Low findings all resolved. 36 Foundry tests passing. Hexens professional audit scoped, restarts at first investment close.
