About
The problem it solves The Virtual Try-On (VTON) project addresses significant challenges in the online fashion and retail industry. One of the major issues is the lack of confidence in online shopping due to uncertainty about fit, style, and overall appearance. This often results in high return rates, leading to additional costs for businesses and frustration for customers. Furthermore, traditional methods of creating physical samples and processing returns are time-consuming, wasteful, and contribute to environmental harm. The VTON project solves these problems by providing an AI-driven virtual try-on solution that allows users to visualize how clothes will look and fit on them, using highly realistic 3D models. By enabling customers to virtually try outfits, VTON reduces the guesswork in online shopping, decreases return rates, and enhances the overall shopping experience. Additionally, our project integrates blockchain technology for payments, introducing a unique incentive system. Customers earn tokens every time they engage with our 3D modeling feature to try on outfits virtually. These tokens can be redeemed for discounts, creating a rewarding and engaging shopping experience while fostering customer loyalty. Blockchain ensures secure, transparent transactions, adding trust and innovation to the platform. By combining real-time 3D modeling, sustainable practices, and blockchain-powered incentives, VTON redefines online shopping, making it smarter, greener, and more enjoyable for users and businesses alike.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into 1) Incorporating blockchain technology for secure payments and token-based incentives presented complexities in ensuring fast, low-cost transactions. Balancing security, scalability, and user-friendliness in the token system required significant effort. 2) Ensuring the platform worked seamlessly across various devices and browsers without compromising performance or visual quality required robust testing and optimizations for scalability. 3) Mapping virtual clothing onto 3D models with accurate fit and movement was challenging. Ensuring clothes looked natural while accounting for different body types, poses, and lighting conditions involved extensive fine-tuning of UV mapping, texture blending, and physics simulations.
