About
The problem it solves ## Problems - Amid armed conflicts, natural disasters, and censorship, many countries are without internet access, making digital assets inaccessible. - The high cost and unsatisfactory quality of mobile internet prevent millions of people from accessing essential digital services, like online banking. - In Brazil, 36 million people are disconnected from the network, with access inequality disproportionately affecting vulnerable groups, such as those who identify as black and those with a low educational level. ## Statistical Data - The 2022 TIC Domiciles Survey highlights that 36 million people do not have internet access in Brazil. - Of the 36 million, 30% of Brazilians see internet service as expensive or inaccessible. This digital disconnection is marginalizing a significant proportion of the population from access to the modern financial system. - Of the 36 million, 58% of Brazilians without internet access identify as black - 21 million people. - Of the 36 million, 29 million of the disconnected have an education level lower than elementary school, including a significant deaf population. ## Solution Vibra Wallet. A revolutionary wallet that allows sending cryptocurrencies via SMS, without internet and without an app. ## Features - Safe and fast sending of cryptocurrencies via SMS, without the need for the internet. - Accessible through a link, without the need for app installations. - Account Abstraction for users with minimal digital literacy. - Reload your balance using PIX via QR Code, bridging traditional money and Web3 seamlessly. - Accessibility in Sign Language. ## Why Blockchain? - While traditional banking systems can fail in times of crisis, the blockchain remains robust and accessible. - Blockchain provides a more efficient, affordable, inclusive, and threat-resistant financial system. Vibra Wallet is the true realization of the initial vision of blockchain: a decentralized, resilient, and censorship-resistant financial system.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into **Why Vibra?** Vibra Wallet is the true realization of the initial vision of blockchain: a decentralized, resilient, and censorship-resistant financial system. ## Technical Challenges 1. Transaction encoding challenges to make sending via SMS possible across different blockchains, setting up the DREX infrastructure, team communication, and building a bridge between PIX and DREX. 2. The project's reliance on third-party solutions for SMS and PIX Transaction sending with paid services. The free version posed instability in service use. This delayed our PIX service integration on the Front. 3. Due to time constraints, comprehensive testing on the swap tool wasn't feasible. ## Team Challenges 1. The primary challenge was linguistic. Our team consists of 4 deaf individuals and 2 hearing individuals. We depended on a Sign Language interpreter for team communication. 2. Some technical words didn't exist in Sign Language vocabulary. Words like DREX, Hyperledger, and Lido were coined during the project. 3. The decision to participate with a deaf team was last-minute, and there was uncertainty about having a full-time interpreter available. ## Personal Challenges 1. A team member, whose wife is pregnant and was responsible for the PIX payment system integration, had to step back due to a family emergency. The team had to adapt quickly. 2. We learned to appreciate the diversity of perspectives and semantic interpretations. ## RoadMap a. A future feature will allow checking the blockchain balance 100% offline just by sending an SMS. We know how to implement this but couldn't due to unforeseen challenges and tight timelines. b. Token swap system will operate offline via SMS in future iterations. c. An offline bridge for inter-blockchain swaps will be introduced. d. Full access to the decentralized finance systems of major blockchains will be provided. e. Enhancements to private key security and the
