    About

The problem it solves "TradeMySkill" breaks the universal issue of skill-gaps by offering a straightforward platform on which users can swap skills rather than dollars. For instance: A skilled coder can share coding skills in exchange for learning design, music, or even fitness from another person. Acquiring a new skill tends to require money, courses, or apps — but this platform eliminates that need by facilitating skill-barter. As the name goes: If you know it, you can trade it. ![image](https://assets.devfolio.co/content/b35cd87e9083458b9d0eeb30ebb50e6c/15a5c68b-11a6-413c-a864-d7fa5ddcf370.png)

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into GitHub Repository & Deployment Issues: I initially faced Git problems like src refspec main does not match any and push failures. It was puzzling when I was fresh to handling it, but I fixed the debugging using the proper Git commands (git init, git pull origin main, and git push -u origin main) and corrected the repository, and I was able to host the site on GitHub Pages. Live Updates Not Reflected: I was struggling with getting the new skill additions to appear instantaneously in the Skill Exchange Board. The issue was with the form processing. I went through the addEventListener and reviewed the DOM manipulation logic and discovered that feedback and reset needed to be delayed and better styled. Recording a Demo using Voice: It was also tricky to set up screen recording tools like Loom and VEED — my microphone was not registering at first. I tried many platforms and granted permissions properly before I could finally record my demo properly using good audio. Learning Curve: Not being used to open source contribution and hackathon-like time constraints was an issue in itself. But remaining calm and breaking it down into smaller steps, I managed!
