    TipMyThread

Turn crypto threads into real rewards.

    About

The problem it solves Crypto Twitter is full of valuable threads market insights, alpha leaks, DeFi tutorials, NFT breakdowns, and blockchain research. But here’s the issue: Creators aren’t fairly rewarded. Likes and retweets bring attention, but they don’t put food on the table. Many creators give away alpha for free without any direct support from the community. Traditional tipping is broken. Sending money across borders is slow, expensive, and often blocked by payment processors. No easy Web3 native solution exists for social content. If you want to tip a thread author, you have to DM them for an address, copy-paste it into your wallet, and send manually slow, clunky, and error-prone. Smart Contract Address(es) TipMyThread does not deploy its own custom smart contract. Instead, it uses native Base L2 transaction handling to send tips directly from the sender’s wallet to the recipient’s wallet. Other Onchain Proof Since TipMyThread tips are sent directly on Base L2, every transaction is recorded and verifiable on-chain. You can view activity via any Base block explorer by searching the recipient’s wallet address or a known tip transaction hash. How it's made

Challenges we ran into As a 20-year-old solo dev with no Solidity experience, building TipMyThread meant learning everything from scratch from Supabase to ethers.js — while constantly getting stuck on small bugs with no one to ask for help. I skipped writing smart contracts and used Base’s existing tools, broke the work into small steps, and focused on making tipping reliable before thinking about fancy features.
