The problem it solves Traditional event ticketing is often plagued by fraud, scalping, and lack of transparency. Attendees frequently encounter fake tickets or inflated resale prices, while event organizers struggle to track ownership and transfers. Tickets are difficult to transfer securely, often requiring intermediaries and incurring additional fees, and they provide little engagement beyond entry to the event. Our NFT Ticketing App solves these problems by creating tickets as NFTs on the Base blockchain, ensuring secure ownership, authenticity, and verifiable proof of attendance. Transfers and resales happen safely and seamlessly onchain, while tickets can also act as collectibles, unlocking perks, rewards, or exclusive content. How it's made
Challenges we ran into One challenge was ensuring smooth NFT transfers, as transactions sometimes failed due to gas or smart contract issues. I solved this by adding robust error handling and transaction confirmations. Another hurdle was linking real-world event data to onchain tickets without breaking NFT integrity. I overcame this by storing metadata off-chain with onchain references. Finally, onboarding users unfamiliar with crypto wallets was tricky, so I added wallet guides and auto-detection for a seamless experience.
