The problem it solves In today's technology landscape, collaboration on open source software has reached new heights. Platforms like GitHub have fostered a global community of developers, driving innovation across industries. Open source software has become the backbone of web servers, front-end frameworks, and a wide range of applications, including the transformative realms of blockchains and decentralized applications. However, a critical challenge persists: the lack of sustainable funding often threatens the longevity of promising open source projects. While donation platforms have emerged to support these projects, their setup and maintenance can be burdensome and time-consuming. At 0xThirdspace, we recognized this challenge and set out to revolutionize open source sustainability. Our innovative solution combines smart-contract powered automated donation distribution with comprehensive commit evaluation, creating a streamlined and efficient support system for open source projects.
