About
Why are you participating for Based Africa? Africa is undergoing rapid technological growth, especially in the blockchain space. By participating in this hackathon, I want to contribute to Africa's blockchain ecosystem by providing tools that empower communities to work together, regardless of geographic boundaries. Decentralized applications, like our "Task Bounties" platform, provide a way to connect talents from different parts of the continent, allowing for more efficient collaboration and job creation, which is crucial for Africa's development.
How it's made
What challenges are you focusing on? I'm focusing on the lack of trust in traditional job platforms, inefficient payment systems, and limited access to decentralized finance in many African regions. Many communities face challenges in coordinating tasks, especially when it comes to cross-border payments and securing trust between task creators and freelancers. How does your submission address this challenge? Our "Decentralized Task Bounties" platform allows users to create tasks with attached cryptocurrency bounties, ensuring instant payments upon task completion without the need for intermediaries. The blockchain ensures trust, transparency, and security, enabling people across Africa to collaborate without worrying about fraudulent activity or payment delays. This project could unlock new opportunities for people who struggle with traditional financial and job platforms. Challenges we ran into Smart Contract Security: One of the key challenges was ensuring that the smart contract logic was secure, especially around handling task payments. We implemented checks to prevent tasks from being taken multiple times or funds being mismanaged. User Experience (UX): Another challenge was creating a seamless experience for users interacting with the blockchain. Not everyone is familiar with managing crypto wallets, so I worked on making the interface more user-friendly and intuitive.
