    About

The problem it solves Managing shared funds with friends or a team is usually very risky. Either one person has all the control, or you’re stuck in long chats trying to decide what to do with the money. It gets confusing and unsafe. That’s where SquadFi helps. With SquadFi, you and your friends (or team) can create a squad wallet, send messages like “create proposal”, vote on it, and even execute transactions, all just by chatting. It’s like group decision-making, but faster and more secure, and everything happens onchain. You don’t need to open separate apps, share private keys, or rely on a single person. Everyone gets a vote, and only when the squad agrees, the action happens. So whether you’re planning a trip with friends, managing a community fund, or doing group investments. SquadFi makes it easy, safe, and fun to handle money together.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into One of the main challenges I faced was while setting up XMTP for messaging. I was trying to use fetch initially, but later realized I needed to switch completely to XMTP to make it truly onchain and decentralized. That part got a bit confusing at first. Also, got stuck with some weird errors like "Buffer is not defined" in the browser. I had no idea what was going on. After spending hours checking stack overflow and docs, I finally fixed it by manually adding "window.Buffer = Buffer" in the React entry file. That felt like a victory. Another tricky part was connecting the frontend wallet and the agent wallet correctly and making sure messages were going to the right address. A few times I sent commands but nothing happened because I had the wrong wallet address or conversation setup. But step by step, with console logs and some good old trial-and-error, everything started working. And once the messages started flowing and proposals were getting created through chats, it felt totally worth it.
