About
The problem it solves **Streaming music usually means:** *Zero ownership* – You pay for full access, not assets. *Manual investing *– If you want to invest in artists, it’s complicated and time-consuming. Usually impossible. *Budget risk* – No control over how much you spend per track or per day. ***How Songcast solves these problems:*** **Auto-invest in your music taste** No need to manually trade tokens or shares—just listen to own. Your music portfolio correlates 1:1 with your listening habits. **Profit by discovering songs early** With auto-invest activated: Early listen of a viral track = Profit in your Wallet **Set spending controls** Custom price per listen, daily limits, and time thresholds keep your budget safe. **Safe skipping** Not feeling a track? Skip and dont invest. **Works everywhere** Compatible with any wallet, including @farcasterxyz, @baseapp, and browser wallets. Artists are free to import existing songs from Zora (in any format; even mp4!) or create new tracks directly in the SongCast app/miniapp. Smart Contract Address(es) Zora Factory 0x777777751622c0d3258f214F9DF38E35BF45baF3 ZoraHookRegistry 0x777777C4c14b133858c3982D41Dbf02509fc18d7 Zora ContentCoinHook 0x9ea932730A7787000042e34390B8E435dD839040 Zora CreatorCoinHook 0xd61A675F8a0c67A73DC3B54FB7318B4D91409040 Other Onchain Proof *43 Music Coins on Songcast by 16 unique artists (total marketcap: +49'000$)* https://songcast.xyz/coins/analytics *First SC Track $VENT already at +600$ in Creator Earnings* https://zora.co/coin/base:0x50ca3d669e893da18cc55875e8ec7a12ce36cdcf *$SONG (Songcast's Zora Creator Coin) at +500'000$ marketcap and top 30 Creators in less than a month of account creation * https://zora.co/@songcast *Second Place in Base Batches Europe Consumer Track* https://devfolio.co/projects/songcast-294a *First Place in Zora Coinathon* https://coinathon.encode.club/
How it's made
Challenges we ran into **1. Universal Wallet Support** Building for any wallet (Farcaster, Base, browser wallets) was tricky because each has its own integration quirks and security layers. *How we solved it:* Implemented a flexible wallet connector system. Universal support for auto-investing is currently in beta, especially for TBA. 👉 DM us on @songcastxyz or @dabusthebuilder to join our close testing group. Tested across multiple environments to ensure seamless logins and transactions. **2. Getting Constant Feedback** Early on, we realized assumptions don’t always match real user behavior. *How we solved it:* Built feedback loops into every release. Kept an open channel with beta users and collectors for real-time input. **3. Improving the App 1:1 with Artists** Artists have different needs than listeners, and we wanted to make sure the experience worked for both. *How we solved it:* Scheduled weekly recaps with artists. Made rapid iterations based on their workflow feedback (pricing, thresholds, UI). **4. Sudden SSL & Function Invocation Spike** One update unexpectedly broke the domain SSL and caused function invocations on Vercel to spike. *How we solved it:* Rolled back quickly to restore SSL. Audited deployment pipeline to catch SSL misconfigurations early. Added monitoring alerts for abnormal invocation spikes. **5. Hackathon Pressure (Zora Coinathon)** Won #1 in Zora's Coinathon after performing a 3-minute live pitch as one of 10 finalists. Balancing product building and public pitching was a huge test of clarity under pressure. *How I handled it:* Condensed the vision into a clear, fast and high-impact pitch. Attended a pitch-training session by Encode Club to improve my timing and communication. Focused on what problem we solve, what makes songcast unique and why it matters instead of overloading with tech jargon. **Lessons Learned** Expect the unexpected: SSL and infra issues taught me to avoid panik. Find rollback strategies and learn how to monitor systems early. Talk to users constantly: Feedback loops and artist recaps accelerated product-market fit. Storytelling matters: Winning a hackathon proved that how you explain your product is as critical as what you’ve built.
