Smart Prescription
We want to eliminate over the counter purchase of medicine using fake prescription, or buying overdose of the medicine using old prescription.
About
The problem it solves We are working towards the goal of eradicating the purchase of medicine without a valid prescription. To achieve this, we have created a platform that allows doctors to write prescriptions electronically, which can be accessed by patients through our website. This move away from paper prescriptions not only eliminates the possibility of fake prescriptions or the purchase of medicine using outdated prescriptions, but also ensures that the prescription is stored securely in the Ethereum blockchain, which guarantees its authenticity. Furthermore, this system allows for increased privacy and security for patients, as their personal information and medical records are kept confidential. Moreover, the blockchain technology ensures that the prescription can be quickly and easily verified by the pharmacy before the medication is dispensed, providing an additional layer of security and peace of mind for both the patient and the doctor. Overall, our platform is a significant step forward in ensuring the safe and secure provision of medication to patients while simultaneously reducing the likelihood of prescription fraud and abuse.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into The integration aspect of the project proved to be a significant hurdle for our team. Initially, we had to deploy the solidity file, which involved a steep learning curve for some members of the team. Once we had deployed the file, we had to test it thoroughly to ensure it was functioning correctly. This required us to use remix IDE, which is a powerful tool but can also be quite tricky to navigate at times. We had to work closely together to identify and fix the bugs that we encountered during the testing process. Once we were confident that the solidity file was working as intended, we moved on to the next phase: calling the ABI using react. This was another challenging aspect of the project, as we encountered numerous errors along the way. Nevertheless, we persevered and eventually managed to get the ABI working as it should. Overall, while the integration part of the project was undoubtedly a difficult task, we feel that we learned a great deal from the experience and are confident that we will be better equipped to tackle similar challenges in the future.
