SIMemes, an AI-driven, meme-based social idle game built on Base, transforms airdrops into a fun, relatable experience. By tapping into meme culture, SIMemes leverages humor and competition to make Web3 accessible, resonating with a global audience and amplifying exposure for Web3 projects. With 3 billion gamers worldwide, we reckon gaming is the most ideal bridge between Web2 and Web3. In SIMemes, players engage in a “steal to earn” model, using a Tinder-like interface to socially interact with known or unknown players, targeting their in-game or on-chain assets. Players share achievements on X and Warpcast, forming rivalries and alliances that build vibrant onchain communities echoing Web2 social dynamics. Our AI agent, PoopAI, assigns dynamic quests on these platforms, rewarding seamless airdrops via Base’s Smart Wallet, with Base’s low-cost, high-speed transactions reducing onboarding friction for Web2 users. For Web3 projects, SIMemes offers a platform to distribute on-chain assets fairly, with PoopAI’s on-chain verification combating fake accounts. By integrating Base’s OnchainKit and Smart Wallet, SIMemes ensures secure, scalable transactions. SIMemes not only addresses airdrop inefficiencies but also drives mainstream Web3 adoption through meme-driven, social, and accessible blockchain experiences.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into Creating a seamless social experience for SIMemes was a key challenge, as we aimed to leverage social platforms’ graphs and mini app functions without requiring users to switch apps, which could disrupt engagement. Our plan to deploy on Telegram and have players share meme-driven results on X or Warpcast risked fragmenting the experience, limiting viral community growth and the social appeal of our Tinder-like interface. To address this, we explored Farcaster’s mini app framework, which allows in-feed gameplay, enhancing meme culture and fostering onchain communities through player rivalries. Base’s low-cost, high-speed transactions enabled smooth integration of PoopAI’s quest and airdrop distribution via Smart Wallet, supporting Web2 user onboarding. By leveraging Base’s OnchainKit, we streamlined on-chain interactions, ensuring a cohesive social experience that aligns with Base’s vision of scalable, AI-driven applications.
