The problem it solves Most DEXs and aggregators focus purely on the trader experience but none reward the people driving volume: the shillers. ShillEarn flips the script: it lets anyone generate a referral link for any token, earn 0.5% on every trade they drive, and even get 0.1% from their referred shillers’ activity. We turn engagement into measurable, onchain revenue. How it's made
Challenges we ran into The biggest challenge we faced was designing a referral system that was both onchain, gas-efficient, and resistant to abuse. We knew from the start that rewarding users with a percentage of each swap would open the door to farming and sybil attacks. So we had to be extremely careful with: Tracking referrals reliably across both EVM and Farcaster Avoiding double-counting or circular referrals Preventing zero-fee farming attempts from bots We also wanted to reward people even if they didn't initiate the swap themselves, as long as they helped amplify token discovery. This required designing a fee collection and distribution flow that was fully automated but transparent. We overcame this by splitting the system in two smart contracts: One for handling swaps + fee extraction (gas-optimized, upgradeable) One for managing fee claims, point attribution, and ref relationships We also added an offchain proof-of-activity system for bonus features (streaks, XP, badge tracking) to stay flexible and fast. It was a lot of iteration, especially while keeping everything Base-native and L2 cheap, but we’re proud of the result: A system that scales from degen memes to legit campaigns without breaking.
