    How it's made

Challenges we ran into Re-creating offline, face-to-face social games in an online setting was tricky. One major challenge was handling real-time gameplay (synchronization between multiple players). I initially struggled with socket-based connections dropping or desyncing, which made the games unplayable. Solved this by switching to Pusher for reliable real-time communication, ensuring that every move/action is instantly synced across all players. Another hurdle was keeping the games simple yet engaging, while preserving their nostalgic charm. Overcoming these challenges allowed Recess to feel just like the games we loved—only now, playable anywhere in the world.
