About
Why are you participating for Based SEA? I'm participating in the Based Malaysia Hackday because I see a huge opportunity to make real-world changes with onchain solutions. Parking is such a common headache for Malaysians, and I wanted to explore how blockchain could offer a more efficient, transparent way to solve it. Plus, this hackathon gives me the chance to showcase how creative solutions can intersect with tech in ways people might not expect. Being part of this is also about supporting the local community—it's tough for creatives and techies to get recognition or income, especially when the market’s flooded. This event feels like the perfect space to bring together the ideas we have and actually make something impactful. At the end of the day, it's not just about coding for the sake of it; it's about making a difference in the everyday lives of people here. Additional Features N/A
How it's made
What challenges are you focusing on? I'm focusing on some pretty specific challenges during this hackathon, starting with parking. It's something almost every Malaysian deals with daily—limited spots, inefficient payment systems, and just the overall frustration of trying to find a place to park. I’m exploring how we can use onchain tech to create a more transparent and efficient way to handle parking, whether it’s reserving spots, verifying availability in real-time, or even streamlining payments. But beyond just parking, I’m also thinking about the bigger picture. One challenge is making blockchain solutions user-friendly enough for people who aren't tech-savvy. If we want these ideas to actually work in real life, they need to be simple and accessible. Another hurdle is the perception of blockchain as just “crypto” when it can really be so much more. I want to show how this technology can solve real-world problems in ways that aren’t just financial but practical, too. That's what drives me in this hackathon—bridging that gap between creative problem-solving and tech that can make a difference for everyone. How does your submission address this challenge? My submission tackles the parking issue by using onchain solutions to create a simple, efficient system for reserving spots, checking availability, and making payments. By leveraging smart contracts, the process is automated and transparent, ensuring real-time updates that can’t be manipulated. I’ve kept the design user-friendly, so even those unfamiliar with blockchain can easily use it. This project shows how onchain tech can solve real-world problems and improve daily life, moving beyond just financial applications Challenges we ran into Technical Complexity As a creative, diving into the technical aspects of smart contracts was daunting. I struggled with understanding the coding required for reservations and payments. Solution: I relied on my understanding of the basics of smart contracts, focusing on applying simple logic to my project. User Experience Design Designing an intuitive interface was challenging since I wanted it to be accessible for non-tech-savvy users. Solution: I gathered feedback from friends during testing sessions, which helped me simplify the design and improve usability.
