OnTym
No Volatility, Just Accountability
About
The problem it solves OnTym addresses a widespread and often overlooked problem: the lack of accountability for lateness in virtual and physical meetings. In today’s remote-first and fast-paced world, time is one of the most valuable resources yet meetings frequently start late, wasting time and diminishing productivity. Existing solutions like calendar reminders, time-tracking apps, or meeting alerts only notify users, but they don’t create any real consequences or motivation to be on time. OnTym improves on this by introducing a financial incentive tied to punctuality through Web3 smart contracts. By requiring users to stake tokens before a meeting, it creates tangible accountability. If they’re on time, they retain or even gain tokens from those who are late; if they’re late, they lose their stake. This shifts punctuality from a soft expectation to a measurable, reward-driven behavior. Unlike traditional tools, OnTym doesn’t rely on reminders or passive tracking it uses incentive alignment and peer accountability to actively change behavior. It’s also decentralized, transparent, and secure, ensuring fairness without requiring a central authority. In doing so, OnTym not only meets a real need but enhances existing time management solutions with a layer of gamified, economic motivation that makes people actually care about being on time.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into One of the biggest challenges I faced was time management. As a student, I had numerous academic responsibilities to complete, which significantly limited my available time. Balancing coursework and deadlines was difficult, especially for Base BATCH APAC. To overcome this, I sacrificed sleep, allowing myself extra hours to finish my tasks before the deadline. While this approach helped me stay on track, it required careful planning and resilience to maintain productivity despite reduced rest.
