Onchain Writers.
Bringing the next generation of writers onchain.
About
Why are you participating for Based Africa? I'm participating in Base Africa because I don't want other writers to go through the struggles I faced. When i satarted, it was really difficult for me to land jobs. It was an endless cycle of sample submissions with no feedback, and even when I did manage to secure work, it often felt like I was hired as a favor rather than for my actual skills. I was handed peanuts for my efforts, and it was both discouraging and draining. Having experienced this firsthand, I’m determined to create a better path for writers onchain, where they are valued for their talent, earn fairly, and gain recognition without the frustrations of traditional platforms. I believe the onchain space can provide writers with the opportunities they deserve, and I want to help make that a reality. Additional Features I was able to successfully upload on youtube.
How it's made
What challenges are you focusing on? Empowering writers to gain more recognition and providing them with a platform to thrive in the tech world. How does your submission address this challenge? I hosted an in person meet up for writers where I spoke about earning opportunities and introduced them to onchain platforms like paragraph xyz and mirror where they can earn. In the meeting, I also emphasized how writers are the driving force behind education and information, and highlighted that onchain platforms offer greater appreciation, value and recognition for writers compared to Web2. Challenges we ran into The greatest challenge I encountered was that none of the attendees had prior knowledge of the decentralized market or how it worked. This made it difficult to effectively break down the concept and engage them on deeper discussions. Additionally, I faced a significant challenge with turnout. Only a few participants were able to attend in person, despite having 16 individuals register online. Moreover, the attendees voiced concerns about the difficulty of securing jobs in the decentralized space. Even when they did manage to find employment, they felt that the compensation was not enough to cover the effort they invested.
