Nodestrong
Nodestrong is a community trading strategy platform with which you can design and backtest advanced strategies using a no-code UI. Signals are sent into messaging apps for trade execution.
About
The problem it solves Knowing which token to buy on a DEX is very difficult, and Nodestrong helps filtering out the noise. Users can choose from a library of over 30 on-chain indicators from which they create their own personal trading strategy with a no-code editor. The ability to backtest on historical data means you can try out different strategies without losing any funds. Signals from the trading strategies are sent into messaging apps like Telegram and Discord for possible trade execution. This platform can be used in many ways: 1. As a community trading strategy platform where groups collaborate and share trading strategies and signals. 2. As a solo trading strategy application where users builds their own strategies not shared with anyone else. 3. As an end to end solution from signal to automated buy and sell execution. The flexibility of the strategy editor, where conditions can be combined in any order, makes it possible to create advanced strategies without any coding skills. The intent is to find a middle-ground between not beeing too technical but still enabling advanced use cases. The following functionalities were added specifically for the Onchain Summer Buildathon in the month of June: - End to end support for the Base chain. It means Base trading strategies can be designed, backtested and signals be received in Telegram. Previously only Ethereum was supported. - Created a sign-up flow, based on the Coinbase Smart Wallet. This is a first step and enables many future evolutions such as taking payment for accessing certain parts of the application, or the ability to create private trading communities with access restricted to certain wallets. - Created a new entry portal website to the application at https://go.nodestrong.com. On this portal the users signs-up and connects their Telegram account to get access to trading communities and the ability to create personal strategies.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into Creating the real time data pipeline was a challenge as the low block time compared to Ethereum means there is much more data to manage. This was overcome by buying a new server that is dedicated to Base to spread out the load, and a number of application level compromises like adjusting the token garbage collection parameters, reducing the number of blocks that are evaluated in some of the on-chain conditions etc. There are still many improvements to be found both on back and frontend side to increase backtest execution speed and hopefully get it as quick as Ethereum. There were also some issues with the Base node where unplanned restarts of the node caused data corruption and we had to completely recreate the node which takes multiple days. This was overcome by improving resiliency and we now have multiple nodes and can switch if one goes down.
