The problem it solves We aimed to solve some critical problems in the traditional ticketing system, and here are the two main challenges we addressed: ### Preventing Ticket Fraud: One of the biggest issues with traditional ticketing systems is the possibility of counterfeit or duplicate tickets. By using NFTs, we can guarantee the authenticity of each ticket. Each NFT ticket is unique and verifiable on the blockchain, eliminating the risk of fraud. This not only protects event organizers but also ensures that attendees receive legitimate access to events. ### Ensuring Fair Resale and Ownership: In the conventional system, scalping and unfair ticket reselling often lead to inflated prices. Our NFT-based ticketing system allows for transparent ownership and resale. Every transaction is recorded on the blockchain, making it easy to track the ticket’s origin and resale price. This ensures fair pricing and reduces the impact of scalping, providing a better experience for attendees who purchase tickets at fair market value.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into ### NFT Integration Complexity: One of the challenges we encountered was integrating NFTs into the ticketing system. Although NFTs are a unique way to manage event tickets, understanding and implementing the right technology to mint, transfer, and verify NFT tickets was initially challenging. It took time to ensure the system was robust and reliable, especially when testing minting functionality and ensuring that NFTs could be easily accessible for users. ### Limited Resources for Scalability Testing: Since the project was a prototype, we faced limitations in testing the platform's scalability under real-world conditions. We couldn’t simulate high-traffic scenarios or test how the system would handle large numbers of users purchasing tickets simultaneously. This posed a challenge in ensuring that the platform could scale effectively for larger events.
