About
The problem it solves Problem When friends go out together—on trips, for a night out, or even just splitting the cost of a group purchase—tracking and settling shared expenses can be a headache. People rely on manual calculations, random notes, or complicated spreadsheets, leading to confusion and friction. Key Pain Points * Inefficient & Time-Consuming * Manually dividing costs is prone to mistakes and requires constant updates. * Repeatedly calculating who owes whom wastes valuable time. * Lack of Clarity & Transparency * Friends often have to trust a single person’s math or memory. * Discrepancies can cause misunderstandings, tension, or disputes. * High Fees & Limited Options * Some payment apps charge fees or don’t operate in all countries. * Splitting across multiple currencies or platforms can get complicated. * No Unified Record-Keeping * Expenses are scattered across chat threads, receipts, or mental tallies. * Forgetfulness can lead to overlooked expenses and unpaid balances. * Missed Opportunity for Positive Impact * Traditional methods of splitting bills only settle balances. * There’s no built-in mechanism to do good (like donating a small fee to social causes) during the payment process.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into I joined this hackathon less than a week ago and dove into building a Farcaster mini app with curiosity and excitement. As a beginner coder, the experience was both humbling and invigorating. I often felt like I was chasing my AI tail—caught in loops where even the most advanced tools kept trying to solve the same problem without resolution. Despite integrating new knowledge sources and experimenting with different AI assistants, setting up a local server remained a challenge. Eventually, I discovered Ohara, which helped me finally glimpse what a functioning mini app looks like. While I still ran into roadblocks, being able to see the structure and start learning from it was a huge breakthrough. My biggest challenge was time—there’s only so much you can do in a few days—but the process has been incredibly inspiring. I’ll definitely keep building and refining this project. This is just the beginning.
