What challenges are you focusing on? By leveraging the Base blockchain, I aim to tackle significant challenges in the film industry, particularly focusing on transaction security and transparency in payments. By utilizing blockchain technology, I ensure that all transactions related to movie streaming, purchases, and rentals are secure, allowing users to transact with confidence. Additionally, the platform provides clear visibility into payment processes, fostering trust among users, filmmakers, and distributors by showing where their money goes and how it contributes to the ecosystem. Another challenge I am addressing is limited access to diverse movie content across Africa. The platform aims to create a marketplace that empowers filmmakers from various backgrounds to showcase their work, making it accessible to a wider audience. By facilitating this access, I hope to enrich the film-watching experience and promote cultural diversity in cinema How does your submission address this challenge? The submission addresses the challenges within the movie industry by leveraging the Base blockchain to enhance transaction security, transparency and by ensuring that all transactions related to movie streaming, purchases, and rentals are conducted on a secure and transparent platform, it empower users to engage confidently in their transactions. This level of transparency not only builds trust among users but also ensures that filmmakers and distributors can track where their revenue is coming from, promoting accountability in the ecosystem. Furthermore, the platform aims to expand access to diverse film content by creating a marketplace for filmmakers from various backgrounds. By eliminating traditional distribution barriers, it enable independent filmmakers to showcase their work to a wider audience, thus promoting cultural diversity in cinema. This inclusive approach allows users to discover and enjoy films that they may not have encountered otherwise, enriching their viewing experience. Challenges we ran into I ran into several challenges while building the solution which includes: 1- The correct logic to fetch the list of addresses that voted for the winning movie in order to distribute token to them. 2- Making sure that one address cannot vote for two different movies.
