About
The problem it solves **Description :** MonFund is a Web3-based campus crowdfunding platform designed to support meaningful campus events with accountability and transparency. The platform aims to address issues such as limited access to sponsors, lack of transparency in fund management, and complex coordination between organizers and donors. MonFund strives to create social impact by facilitating secure and transparent fund management, providing students with easy access to launch their initiatives, and fostering a Web3 ecosystem on campus. **Key Features:** 🟣 Decentralized Funding Access MonFund offers an easy-to-access solution for students and event organizers, reducing the need for sponsors to launch meaningful initiatives. Users can contribute to a variety of campus events, ensuring broader participation and support 🟣 Transparent Fund Management Inspired by the need for accountability, MonFund fosters an anti-corruption mindset early in academic life through transparent fund management. All transactions, including contributions, withdrawals, and refunds, are managed through smart contracts on the Lisk Sepolia Blockchain network, providing clear and auditable records. 🟣 Web3 Ecosystem Growth By nurturing a generation fluent in decentralized technologies and governance, MonFund contributes to the growth of the campus Web3 ecosystem. This creates a real impact by empowering students with practical experience in decentralized systems. 🟣 Streamlined Process The platform offers a clear flow for admins to create programs, and for PICs (Persons in Charge) to withdraw funds, while donors can easily contribute. A "Cancel & Refund" function is also available.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into Gas Estimation Failed on Testnet One major hurdle we encountered was a "cannot estimate gas" error when trying to interact with our smart contract on the Lisk Sepolia Testnet. This happened due to the network not properly simulating execution for estimateGas, especially when using complex logic in smart contract functions. Error: cannot estimate gas; transaction may fail or may require manual gas limit How We Solved It We addressed this challenge by: 🟣 Manually setting a safe gas limit based on testing in local and testnet environments. 🟣 Simplifying contract logic for better predictability in gas usage. 🟣 Using console logs & debug traces to identify the point of failure. 🟣 Consulting the Ethers.js documentation and Lisk developer forums for edge-case support.
