Mark movies / tv shows / books / music / games and everything you love by Minting
About
The problem it solves MintMark is designed to immortalize humanity’s greatest creative feats, including books, movies, music, and games as NFTs. This platform resolves the following issues: 1. By hosting creative content on a blockchain, we provide universal access, facilitating an uncensored and free platform for all. 2. It enables users to track their progress and engage with like-minded communities. 3. We bridge the gap between creators and fans. Creators gain from exclusive work/NFT publication, monetizing their creativity effectively. 4. Contributors’ efforts are compensated tangibly, rather than purely through satisfaction. 5. We provide a standardized API for all creative works, simplifying access and interaction
How it's made
Challenges we ran into 1. Creating a new contract based on ERC721 for all the creative works was a necessity. We started with using OpenEditionERC721 for the DEMO, which worked well, but the task of creating our own contract and subsequently a contract management dashboard was complex and demanding. 2. Developing a TokenChat-like comment system to facilitate user engagement was a challenge. This system would allow users to post reviews, rate content, and ask questions, much like how forums work. This required careful planning and scripting to ensure smooth operation. 3. The compilation of initial resource data posed a challenge for the cold launch. We considered partnering with various platforms for data provision - TMDB/Douban for movies and TV shows, Goodread for books, Spotify for music, and Steam for games. The process of reaching out, striking partnerships, and synchronizing the data is a complex, time-consuming task.”
