About
The problem it solves # The Problem It Solves Beefunded aims to address several significant issues prevalent in traditional creator funding platforms and the broader creator economy: **No Native Crypto Support**: Traditional platforms largely ignore the growing crypto economy, missing a massive, engaged donor base and limiting frictionless, global on-chain contributions. **High Fees**: Existing platforms often take significant cuts from creators' hard-earned support. Beefunded likely aims to reduce these fees, allowing creators to retain more of their earnings. **Censorship & De-platforming**: Centralized control on traditional platforms carries the risk of account freezes or removals, stifling creators. Beefunded, by leveraging decentralized principles, likely offers a more censorship-resistant environment. **Lack of Transparency**: Donors often have no visibility into how their contributions are used on current platforms. Beefunded aims to increase transparency through on-chain tracking of funds. **Locked & Delayed Payouts**: Funds are often held, and payouts are delayed on traditional platforms, hindering creators' ability to work effectively. Beefunded likely facilitates quicker and more direct access to funds. **Limited Innovation**: Standardized tools on existing platforms stifle unique creator-supporter interactions, such as NFT rewards or token-based incentives. Beefunded seeks to foster more innovative ways for creators and supporters to interact. # What People Can Use It For BeeFunded provides a comprehensive set of features that empower creators and supporters, making funding and engagement more efficient, transparent, and innovative: **For Creators:** **Targeted Fundraising**: Creators can launch funding pools directly tied to specific content or strategic tags. This makes it easy to get shareable links to fund specific goals, allowing for more focused and effective campaigns. **Creator Profile**: This acts as a command center for creators to tell their story, showcase their work, and connect with their audience. It streamlines the process of presenting themselves and their projects. **Project Spotlight**: Creators can earn a spot in the spotlight for a certain amount of time by being voted in using the $BEF governance token. This offers a way to gain increased visibility and attract more support. **Receive Consistent Support**: Through Subscriptions, creators can receive regular contributions from supporters using pre-ferred permit-enabled tokens, helping to sustain their work through consistent on-chain funding. **Innovative Engagement**: With Gifted Pools, creators can set up automated, on-chain random token airdrops within their funding pools, enabling unique incentives for contributors (e.g., chances to win fungible or non-fungible tokens). **Timely Updates**: Notifications keep creators informed about important activities on the platform, ensuring they stay in the loop regarding their campaigns and support. **For Supporters (Donors)**: **Easy One-Time Donations**: Supporters can quickly send a single contribution whenever they choose, making the donation process frictionless. **Regular Contributions**: Through Subscriptions, supporters can contribute regularly using their preferred permit-enabled tokens, providing consistent support to their favorite creators. **Transparency**: Beefunded aims to address the lack of transparency, suggesting supporters will have better visibility into how their contributions are used. **Engage with Rewards**: By contributing to Gifted Pools, supporters have a chance to win tokens (fungible or non-fungible), adding an exciting incentive to their contributions. **Influence Projects**: Through the $BEF governance token (implied by "Project Spotlight"), supporters might be able to vote and influence which projects get more visibility. **Gain Insights**: Pool Insights allow users (likely including supporters) to see the analysis for various timeframes, providing data on the performance of funding pools. In essence, BeeFunded makes the act of supporting creators easier, more transparent, more rewarding, and more aligned with the principles of the decentralized web, offering a safer and more innovative environment for both creators and their communities.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into Our main hurdle was a security concern with the initial ERC-20 approve/transferFrom approach for subscriptions. We mitigated this by implementing the permit extension, which provided a more secure and efficient way to handle recurring payments with a single signature.
