    About

The problem it solves LooperLands is a Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) Pixelverse game integrated to Non-Fungible Token (NFT) assets as avatars, called Loopers, and in-game items, such as weapons. It is a full metaverse and allows players to travel between creator-made worlds, called maps. The game features co-operative Player-Versus-Environment (PvE) quests and raids, as well as Player-Versus-Player (PvP) with ranked leaderboards. Players via web browser (PC or mobile) with an Ethereum wallet with WalletConnect (such as Metamask) can play at LooperLands.io or TaikoTown.io. There is a non-asset-based Free-To-Play (F2P) experience available for anyone once they connect to LooperLands. There are over 14,000 unique Looper assets in-game, with more arriving daily, by hundreds of creators, to build a creator-owned community metaverse with User Generated Content (UGC). In-game asset progress is transactable. We offer zero-code onchain game asset creation, so anyone can make LooperLands assets with all of our tools and tell their stories or engage their audience while connecting to new players. In game assets include avatars (Loopers), melee weapons, ranged weapons, fishing rods, companions, and token-gated player houses. Our maps (worlds) are also UGC using our tools and there are 8 in production with more in development. Accessibility is key towards adoption of this technology, and we work to improve access and reduce friction – LooperLands is Bring Your Own Device and will work on current mobile and desktops via browsers. We offer email authentication and allow creation of non-custodial accounts and offer a tradfi option of asset-purchase by credit card, so no crypto knowledge is required. LooperLands uses a Web 2.5 trustless architecture - we only take public-facing wallet addresses and never unlock. We check asset ownership asynchronously against the blockchain, rather than wallets. We update from the blockchain continuously.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into There were no specific hurdles or issues encountered while building this project, it has been in production for over a year with over 25K players and is vertically and horizontally scalable on demand. We are cross-chain by architecture and add EVM chains in seconds. We have been building a market of creators on Base with integrated assets to LooperLands. This includes Stonks and Friends, Wu-Hue, and Dimmiez, and as of the hackathon conclusion, they are being sold and played with in-game. We are collaborative - some of this was done with the Shaolin Financial Charity Army cross-metaverse events to raise money For The Children, a partner Base Onchain Summer project. * https://app.niftykit.com/collections/stonksfriends * https://opensea.io/collection/dimmiez-for-the-children * https://opensea.io/collection/wu-hue-collection The next stage of growth is to build a Base world and site for players to begin their pixel adventures with a Base-oriented experience, similar to what we have done for Loopring and Taiko. A Base world would showcase other Base games and ecosystem dApps as part of the player game experience. For other worlds running in production, this might take the form of an interactive NPC who might assign a quest with edutainment, pop a dApp in-game, or even a portal to another metaverse. This would require grant funding to be awarded to commission the pixel art, map/quest development, and integration. More beneficial would be Base promotion and support to help reach a wider Base market of creators and players. We offer ongoing engagement with community events, and some of our creators and players are already showing off their LooperLands events on Base. https://warpcast.com/stollenbread/0xbd69b7a4 The next challenge is to continue to expand our presence on Base as a community centre, and we believe Base promotion and support would help us achieve this quickly.
