Lambow Meme Challenge
A meme competition where we engaged with the community to develop Based Lambow memes and post them onchain as NFTs.
About
The problem it solves Lambow is a memecoin on Base that plays into the lambo culture in crypto and captures a large part of the market. The Lambow meme has mass market appeal and connects with young people, older people, crypto enthusiasts and the retail market. We wanted to encourage users to get onchain with Base so we launched a creator challenge to design the best meme of Lambow (note: Lambow is literally a lamb with a bow). As part of the creator challenge, we set up a mintboard on uplink and made it a requirement to post their artwork on our mintboard as part of the entry. We also encouraged (and continue to encourage) our community to support creators by minting their artwork as NFTs on Uplink so creators would get rewarded for their work. By requiring contestants to post their artwork on Uplink, we incentivized users to get onchain with Base. Plus the more users that fall in love with the Lambow meme, the more users will come onchain with Base to participate in $LAMBOW.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into We needed to have a big push on the challenge so we could get as much exposure as possible. We built a 24/7 moderator team for our Telegram channel, posted daily about new community meme artworks and engaged with KOLs to help get the word out to the community at large. We needed a place to house all the amazing memes, make them easily accessible to everyone to enjoy, and reward creators for their fun creations at the same time. By utilizing Uplink we were able to make it as easy as possible for users to get their artwork onchain with Base, and supporters to reward creators on Base.
