Kollabr
Unified, Encrypted, Onchain Collaboration.
About
The problem it solves DAOs and Web3 teams today rely on fragmented Web2 tools like Discord, Slack, Notion, and Zoom — none of which offer encryption by default, onchain identity, or composable governance. This leads to: - Broken contributor coordination - Fragmented team communication - Privacy and data risks - Lack of token-native identity or role logic Meanwhile, Web2 companies exploring Web3 lack a simple, secure way to onboard their operations. Existing tools are too technical, siloed, or don’t support the primitives needed for onchain collaboration. **Kollabr solves this.** It’s a privacy-first, wallet-native workspace designed for both DAOs and modern orgs — offering: - Encrypted messaging - Slide sharing & meeting coordination - Role-based access via smart contracts - Task boards and governance logic - DAO/org toggle mode (based on user type) Built on **Base** and integrated with **XMTP** for secure communications, Kollabr makes the onchain workplace not just possible — but delightful, accessible, and enterprise-ready.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into **Challenges We Faced** Like many early builders, the biggest challenge wasn’t technical — it was operational. Kollabr is a high-ambition, zero-budget project. With no external funding, I bootstrapped team formation from scratch — scouting a lean but passionate crew of designers and developers from Discord, Base forums, and Telegram. Most had never met, and many came onboard purely on long-term equity belief. **Our key challenges:** - Team Formation Delays: It took time to assemble a committed team willing to work pre-funding. We were only able to finalize the core crew in the final stretch of the buildathon. - Human Unpredictability: Our lead dev, who was fully onboarded, had a personal emergency — his son was hospitalized the night before our final sprint. We prioritized empathy over pressure. - Async, Decentralized Coordination: With contributors across different time zones, most balancing other work, learning to move fast in a trust-first, async workflow became a learning curve in itself. Despite everything, we pushed forward with vision and grit — prioritizing what mattered most: - Design clarity - Thoughtful UX flows - A scalable product narrative - Foundation for trustless collaboration We didn’t just come to “demo.” We came to build something real. And this buildathon gave us the runway to start that mission — not perfectly, but purposefully.
