About
Why are you participating for Based Africa? I'm an advocate on BASE and also a global builder. The idea started when I saw the event, and I thought that my participation in such events would encourage others to follow suit. I don't have developer knowledge, so I thought about creating an idea on BASE that requires little to no developer knowledge, as a showcase that any regular user can build on BASE. People often say BASE rewards developers only. It was initially just for fun and experience, but as I worked on it, I really got into the idea, added more phases, and started to take it seriously. The idea isn't limited to a specific region, and I believe it can help bring more people onchain.
How it's made
What challenges are you focusing on? This idea focuses on several challenges in web3: Many volunteer users in Web3 projects slow down significantly after they achieve a specific level or get roles similar to Advocate on BASE. Many projects assign roles to users when they find them active, but unfortunately, at some point, these users may try to scam others in the server. Many builders and artists don’t know how to start or who to collaborate with. Many users don’t know how to navigate Web3 and use its tools How does your submission address this challenge? HUB solves these issues by: 1. Evaluating users' activities across all the Web3 projects they have roles in. This will motivate users to work harder and raise their standards because they are assigned public roles, scores, and badges. Projects can check a user's history if they are part of other projects (which is often the case) by reviewing their roles, score on HUB, and public badges. 2. In phase 2, we will gather builders and artists from all over the world in one place to collaborate, brainstorm ideas, and build together. Builders and artists with different skill levels will benefit from each other. We will also encourage regional building, similar to what BASE is doing, and motivate people to build together. 3. The educational blog will feature simple videos focusing on how to use and navigate BASE and Coinbase, helping to bring more users onchain and achieve BASE's visions. Challenges we ran into Actually the process went very smoothly. I wanted to make the NFTs available for minting on the HUB website and integrate a smart wallet, but I don’t have developer knowledge, so I chose to connect to external platforms.
