FUTR RECORDS
Record Label for Independent Artists
About
The problem it solves FUTR Records aims to create harmonious partnerships that uplift and amplify the efforts of dancers, choreographers, and musicians alike. By integrating these creative forces, we ensure that all ships rise together, fostering a vibrant and supportive ecosystem for all involved. As a professional musician, I understand the challenges in marketing that musicians face in finding appropriate use cases for their music. Creating music videos, and lyric videos direct from the artist is essential, but conductors of the energy of music know the whole lifecycle of a song involves the people. Our plan at FUTR Records is not to force-feed our music to anyone. Instead, we aim to connect dancers and choreographers to the music that inspires them. This includes ice skaters, gymnasts, adventure athletes, joggers, and many others for whom music is an integral part of their daily routine. At FUTR Records, we know that music is not just a digital asset; it's a lifestyle for both creators and consumers. We recognize that dancers and influencers, especially choreographers, deserve to be paid for their time and effort. Dancers typically use trending songs to guarantee views, but we ask them to use new music. We incentivize this by providing upfront rewards and onboarding them to cryptocurrency, adding new revenue streams without replacing their current income. We also introduce them to technologies like Drakula and Paragraph. The founder of FUTR Records has strong connections in the professional choreography and dance world globally. Dancers benefit immensely from breaking new music, as dance in music videos often popularizes songs. Let's capitalize on this concept and recognize that dancing is intrinsic to music, uplifting multiple communities and bridging networks in our global community of creators and partners. All ships rise.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into My challenges include navigating the slow global adoption of digital technologies and **ensuring that music releases are paced appropriately to foster organic audience growth**. By **prioritizing direct relationships with influencers in the dance and media communities**, FUTR Records fosters a supportive ecosystem where all parties benefit, adhering to our philosophy that all ships rise together. The primary challenge we face is that the core purpose of a record label is to provide access to music, including licensing for various sectors. This process must be handled meticulously. **Music releases, to be done properly, require a minimum of six weeks to allow the public to become familiar with the artist** in a comfortable manner. A sudden blitz of advertising can be counterproductive, as people do not resonate with aggressive marketing tactics. FUTR Records takes a unique approach to outreach. Unlike other labels, our primary clients are dancers, journalists, and music collectors. We focus on building genuine relationships rather than relying heavily on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn. While these platforms have value, they are not where music purchases occur. Instead, they serve as venues for personal connections. Our strategy emphasizes direct engagement with those who have strong ties to social media platforms, such as dancers and media creators. For instance, musicians need to connect with dancers and choreographers to build familiarity. When going on tour, knowing the choreographers is more critical than focusing on social media metrics. This approach ensures that our musicians form meaningful relationships that enhance their visibility and reach. __ On a technical note: LOOM did not work for me.
