    Tokenising Consumer Products

    About

The problem it solves ### The Problem it Solves Our ultimate goal is to build the trust layer for the future of commerce. Global brands are facing a massive, non-negotiable regulatory hurdle with the EU's upcoming **Digital Product Passport (DPP)**, which requires a verifiable digital identity for every physical product. Simultaneously, the rise of AI agents requires a new, trusted data layer to safely interact with the physical world. The core problem is that physical goods are currently a "black box," lacking the verifiable identity needed for a compliant, circular, and autonomous economy While our full enterprise solution is being developed with pilot partners, there has been no simple way for everyday creators, collectors, or small brands to access this powerful technology ### What People Can Use It For Our mini-app is the **Open Beta of the UniversalGoods Protocol**, giving users the first public access to the two foundational pillars of our ecosystem: **tokenisation** and a **verifiable secondary marketplace** #### Tokenisation Engine: * **Make Tokenization Effortless (Easier):** Users can create a verifiable, on-chain digital identity for any physical product they own—a custom piece of clothing, a limited-edition collectible, a piece of art. They simply generate a **unique 6-digit code** in the app and attach it to their physical item. This is a user-friendly demonstration of our powerful enterprise-grade tokenization engine. * **Prove Authenticity (Safer):** The on-chain "digital twin" created by the app serves as an ironclad certificate of authenticity. This allows sellers to provide buyers with undeniable proof of their item's history and value, building trust instantly and helping them achieve a better price. #### Secondary Marketplace: * **Trade with an Escrow Safety Net (Safer):** Once an item is tokenized, it can be listed on our integrated marketplace. All transactions are protected by a **built-in smart contract escrow**, ensuring funds are only released to the seller once the buyer confirms they have received the item as described. * **Resolve Issues Fairly (Easier & Safer):** In the rare event of a disagreement, our platform provides a clear dispute resolution process where a neutral admin can be called upon to mediate and resolve the issue, demonstrating the governance framework that will secure our larger ecosystem. In short, this mini-app allows us to battle-test our core infrastructure with a real-world community, gathering crucial feedback while showcasing the future of verifiable commerce to everyone. How it's made

Challenges we ran into Overall, the development and deployment process was remarkably smooth. Our smart contracts were designed from the start to be portable, and our experience deploying to Base truly validated this approach. The main task we ran into was some minor but necessary refactoring on our deployment scripts and Hardhat configurations to align perfectly with Base's specific tooling and block explorer for contract verification. This was less of a bug and more of a fine-tuning process. It was a nice, interoperable experience that reinforced our belief in the ecosystem. Being able to take our core logic and bring it to a new, high-growth environment like Base with minimal friction is the true beauty of EVM compatibility in action.
