    EcoBounty

We're a decentralized platform on BASE that rewards recycling of pet bottle, and cans with crypto tokens. Users need only an email to access their abstracted wallet, promoting sustainability effortles

    About

The problem it solves EcoBounty is a decentralized platform designed to incentivize recycling by rewarding users with cryptocurrency tokens. Users can easily join the platform by registering with just their email, thanks to an abstracted wallet system that simplifies access. Once registered, participants can recycle materials such as PET bottles, plastics, and aluminum cans, and in return, they earn tokens. This provides a tangible incentive for individuals to engage in eco-friendly actions. The platform leverages the BASE blockchain to ensure that the tracking and distribution of rewards are both transparent and secure, utilizing smart contracts to manage these processes. Users can also monitor their recycling efforts and their environmental impact through a user-friendly dashboard. The tokens earned can be used in a marketplace to purchase eco-friendly products, exchanged for other cryptocurrencies, or donated to support environmental projects. EcoBounty not only simplifies the recycling process but also makes it more rewarding, secure, and transparent, encouraging greater participation in environmental sustainability and fostering a community of environmentally conscious individuals and organizations.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into During the development of the EcoBounty project, one significant hurdle we encountered was ensuring the seamless integration of the abstracted wallet system with our blockchain infrastructure. Initially, we faced compatibility issues between the smart contracts managing token distribution and the abstraction layer handling user wallet interactions. To overcome this, our development team implemented rigorous testing and conducted thorough reviews of both the smart contract logic and the frontend abstraction layer. We utilized test networks extensively to simulate real-world scenarios and identify potential bottlenecks or inconsistencies early in the development cycle. Additionally, communication between different components of our tech stack was crucial. We ensured clear and effective communication channels between our blockchain developers and frontend engineers, facilitating swift resolution of any issues that arose. Collaboratively, we refined our deployment processes to streamline updates and ensure compatibility across all system layers. Ultimately, our perseverance in testing, refining, and improving our integration approach paid off. By addressing these challenges proactively and leveraging the expertise of our team, we successfully integrated the abstracted wallet system with the blockchain infrastructure of EcoBounty, delivering a smooth and user-friendly experience for our platform users.
