The problem it solves Empowering Artists and Connecting Communities 1. Monetization for Artists: -Problem: Digital artists often struggle to monetize their work. -Solution: Duomo provides a platform where artists can receive cryptocurrency donations directly from their fans, offering a new revenue stream without intermediaries taking significant percentages. 2. Visibility and Exposure: -Problem: Gaining visibility in a saturated market can be difficult for emerging artists. -Solution: With a video interface, Duomo allows artists to showcase their work to a wide audience through engaging, short video formats. 3. Community Engagement: -Problem: Building a community and engaging with fans can be fragmented across multiple platforms. -Solution: Duomo integrates community features like likes, comments, and shares, while also supporting payment and revenue opportunities for artists and followers. 4. Secure Transactions: -Problem: Traditional payment methods can be slow, costly, and insecure. -Solution: By leveraging base network and coinbase smart wallet technology, Duomo ensures that all crypto transactions are fast, secure, and transparent, providing peace of mind for both artists and contributers. 5. Support for Art Enthusiasts: Challenge: Art enthusiasts often find it difficult to support their favorite artists directly and meaningfully. Solution: Duomo makes it easy for followers + collectors to donate cryptocurrency to artists they admire, allowing them to show their appreciation and support in a tangible way.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into As a UX designer with a strong background in Figma, I faced several challenges while using SwiftUI and iOS app development to build Duomo. *Base chain and coinbase wallet are building very realistic applications that make crypto easy + necessary to use and I was encouraged to build an application for onchain summer. 1. Developer Skills: -Challenge: Transitioning from designing in Figma to coding in SwiftUI was a significant shift. While I have some experience with app development, my primary expertise lies in UX design. -Solution: I implemented the main design ideas and developed these important UI features with SwiftUI. 2. Prototype Limitations: -Challenge: As a prototype, the app currently lacks full functionality, such as user interactions and dynamic content. It is primarily a visual and navigational representation of the final product. -Solution: I focused on creating a compelling user interface that accurately reflects the intended user experience. This involved leveraging my design skills to ensure the prototype effectively communicates the app's potential. 3. Smart Wallet Integration: -Challenge: Integrating coinbase smart wallet functionality and base network for cryptocurrency transactions. -Solution: While the current version of Duomo does not include smart wallet integration, I have implemented the UI for sending crypto using Base network and verifying addresses with easy coinbase smart wallet integration.
