About
The problem it solves Tokenpay provides creators, entrepreneurs and businesses with true utility on day 0 for any minted token. The gateway mechanism drives growth and adoption for any token minted atop of Base. The innovation supports commerce and incentives programs that work alongside NFT infrastructure to enable product gating, discounts and more. The project was inspired by LATAM musicians we met from the Base community in order to support these artists and fans with the ability to create customizable loyalty programs, affiliate tracking and rewards for communities and customers for both web2 and web3 audiences. The long term intention is to foster community support through a rewards system that boosts adoption and engagement onchain. Tokenpay gives any token issuer and holders the ability to use minted digital assets as a seamless payment mechanism within a versatile checkout gateway. It works inside a full framework of no-code and low-code tools that function across the droplinked onchain commerce stack along with being compatible with any website/app using embeddable product tiles units. Tokenpay alongside products recorded onchain provides full transparency and onchain attribution when it comes to inventory management and sales tracking for first and ongoing sales. Unlocking the potential behind token powered commerce: - Tokenpay used with droplinked bridges the gap between digital assets and real-world utility whether visitors want to use traditional payment means alongside crypto. - Creating transparent trust in every transaction using blockchain's inherent security and transparency for both merchants and customers. - Elevate community engagement by enabling token-based transactions for a variety of goods or services.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into The challenge we faced with implementing the smart wallet was that browsers, by default, block popups unless they are opened by an additional button click. When implementing sophisticated functionality that requires the wallet to open in multiple steps, it becomes an issue because the smart wallet operates as a popup. The browser only recognizes the first instance resulting with an additional button click. Subsequent attempts to open the wallet during the payment process get blocked making for not an ideal UX UI for the end user. To solve this, we implemented a check at the beginning to see if the user has blocked pop ups for our website. When enabled, we prompt them to go to their page settings and allow for pop ups on the site to have the smoothest experience.
