    DAO-OPERATIVE

    From Ideas to Impact, Democratically

    About

The problem it solves DAO-OPERATIVE makes it simple for communities, creators, and builders to launch member-owned, on-chain organizations that are both legally compliant and technically operational from day one. • Before DAO-OPERATIVE: Setting up a DAO that also functions as a recognized cooperative meant juggling lawyers, governance tooling, and token mechanics separately — often taking months and costing tens of thousands. • With DAO-OPERATIVE: Anyone can use ready-made smart contracts, templates, and legal frameworks to: • Form a cooperative DAO with built-in governance, membership management, and patronage rewards. • Distribute profits and decision-making power equitably among members. • Operate safely with jurisdiction-aligned bylaws and on-chain voting. This approach makes forming equitable, transparent organizations faster, safer, and more cost-effective — especially for platform co-ops, DeFi protocols, and regenerative finance projects. Smart Contract Address(es) (Current deployment for governance and treasury control on Base testnet) 0x1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef12345678 Other Onchain Proof Deployed DAO governance contract with proposal and voting execution modules. • Treasury contract with automated revenue splits to contributors based on DAO vote outcomes. • Onchain member onboarding transactions and NFT-based membership credentials.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into ![image](https://assets.devfolio.co/content/de2d1532d5a541e7b20be439cb4d71bd/44ca5dcf-c213-40a0-a9b3-373f7f192c73.png) One major hurdle was bridging legal compliance with on-chain automation. • Legal frameworks (like Colorado’s LCA or Wyoming’s DAO LLC) don’t “speak blockchain” natively, and most DAO tools don’t handle cooperative rules like one-member-one-vote or patronage dividends. • The challenge was designing a dual-layer governance model that keeps the legal entity in sync with the DAO’s smart contracts — so that a vote on-chain is legally recognized off-chain. How I Solved It: • Mapped jurisdiction-specific cooperative rules into smart contract logic. • Created flexible governance modules that can enforce either token-weighted voting or equal member voting, depending on the cooperative’s bylaws. • Worked with open-source governance frameworks and adapted them for multi-stakeholder setups.
