    About

The problem it solves DailyBase is a Web3 social journaling platform designed to solve major challenges in the crypto ecosystem: Digital Identity & Memory Preservation Many crypto users lose track of their transactions, learnings, and experiences scattered across different apps and platforms. DailyBase unifies everything into an on-chain journal where users can document their entire Web3 journey with photos, tags, and reflections. Consistency & Habit Building Building daily habits like trading, learning, or portfolio tracking is difficult without structured tracking. DailyBase introduces streak tracking, calendar visualization, and achievement badges to make consistency both rewarding and engaging. Social Connection in Web3 Existing crypto platforms lack meaningful social interaction. DailyBase brings in comments, reposts, likes, and user discovery to foster genuine connections and learning from others’ experiences. Portfolio & Activity Analytics Users often struggle to track progress over time. DailyBase includes analytics, activity visualization, and performance insights to help users understand and optimize their crypto journey. Privacy & Control Unlike traditional platforms, users have granular privacy controls (public/private/friends) and wallet-based identities, ensuring full ownership and control over their data. Gamification & Engagement Traditional journaling apps lack stickiness. DailyBase makes journaling fun with streaks, badges, and social features, encouraging users to return daily. 👉 In short: DailyBase makes it easier, safer, and more enjoyable for users to document, analyze, and share their Web3 journey while giving them complete control of their data. How it's made

Challenges we ran into RainbowKit + Wagmi v2 Integration Issues Challenge: API changes in RainbowKit broke the chains and connectorsForWallets configuration. Solution: Updated to the new getDefaultWallets pattern from RainbowKit v2.2.8, fixing TypeScript errors and ensuring wallet connections worked seamlessly. React Hydration Mismatches Challenge: Wallet connection state conflicted between server-side rendering and client-side rendering. Solution: Implemented a HydrationProvider, added suppressHydrationWarning, and moved QueryClient initialization into components with useState to prevent errors. Database Schema Evolution Challenge: Merge conflicts due to schema differences (single photo vs photo arrays). Solution: Standardized on photo arrays and updated all related endpoints for consistency. Responsive Game-Themed UI Challenge: Designing a futuristic, game-themed UI that adapts well to all devices. Solution: Built custom responsive components and used Tailwind’s responsive utilities to ensure a seamless mobile-to-desktop experience. Real-time State Management Challenge: Handling likes, comments, reposts, and notifications in real time. Solution: Centralized state management with optimistic updates, loading states, and error handling for smooth UX. MongoDB + Prisma Integration Challenge: Handling ObjectId types properly in Prisma. Solution: Updated schema for MongoDB ObjectIds and added robust error handling for database operations. Image Upload & Storage Challenge: Creating drag-and-drop uploads with previews and compression. Solution: Built a custom ImageUpload component with validation, previews, and posting system integration. Performance & Optimization Challenge: Bundle size was too large due to multiple libraries. Solution: Implemented code-splitting, lazy loading, and optimized imports to improve performance. API Rate Limiting Challenge: External APIs like CoinGecko hit rate limits. Solution: Added caching, fallback data, and graceful error handling to prevent app breakage. Wallet-based Authentication Challenge: Managing secure sessions with wallets. Solution: Built an AuthContext with wallet sync, session persistence via localStorage, and secure logout mechanisms.
