    About

Why are you participating for Based Africa? Our motivation for participating in Based Africa stems from our commitment to leverage the Base blockchain to solve real-world issues faced by freelancers in Africa. The region's vibrant and growing tech talent pool stands to benefit immensely from Bloclance, which provides secure, transparent, and smart contract escrow solutions for our web3 freelance marketplace, aligning with our vision to empower the local workforce. Additional Features During the Buildathon, we are introducing an AI-driven dispute resolution system to facilitate quicker resolution of conflicts between freelancers and clients, thereby enhancing platform trustworthiness and user satisfaction.

    How it's made

What challenges are you focusing on? Bloclance addresses significant challenges faced by freelancers on similar web2 platforms like Fiverr & Upwork, including high transaction fees, delayed payments, and lack of trust in contractual commitments within the African freelancing community. Our platform aims to eliminate these barriers through a smart contract based system that ensures quicker payments and solidifies trust via blockchain technology How does your submission address this challenge? By making each freelance gig a smart contract powered escrow on-chain, Bloclance ensures that all agreements are transparent and enforced without bias. Freelancers on our platform can engage with clients securely, with all transactions recorded on the Base blockchain, thus providing a reliable and verifiable history that promotes fairness and accountability. Challenges we ran into We faced technical hurdles in integrating multi-currency to accommodate both ETH & USDC. Through persistent collaboration, we were able to overcome it.
